WORKSHOP SESSIONS:
- “Abstracts for Impact” (Room 105) Want to maximise the impact of your research? A punchy abstract can help. The abstract is essentially the research in miniature and has a crucial role to play in persuading others to take notice. It needs to convey not just what the research is about but also why it matters – the research significance or ‘so what’ factor. This hands-on workshop will explore the key components of persuasive abstracts and how to convey the contribution of your research both within and beyond academia.
- “Leading KNOWledge SUCCESSion for research projects” (Room 212) “KNOWledge SUCCESSion (KS) is an innovative strategic approach to achieve enhanced performance in projects. KS seeks to engage participants in interactive dialogue to stimulate mindset shifts and co-create new knowledge. The approach leverages the diversity of participant’s perspectives in a constructive manner and align initiatives and capability development through the project lifecycle. In the workshop participants explore interdependent aspects of complex challenges to connect cross-disciplinary knowledge flows in novel ways. These creative interactions stimulate the creation, transfer and application of knowledge in iterative cycles to generate insights and value.
- “Digital disruption and its implications on research impact” (Room 219) A facilitated workshop to identify opportunities and challenges arising from the current wave of digital disruption occurring globally.
- “Increasing international research impact via the Global Development Portfolio” (Room 109) Interested in international research opportunities? Wishing to take your work overseas? Aiming for a broader impact? This seminar will show you how. RMIT’s Global Development Portfolio enables international collaboration through strong insights into priority markets, a simple approval process for new institutional partners and a suite of agreements that support a range of research activities. Join us to learn about RMIT’s global reach and outlook, preparing effective partner proposals and the success stories that enhance the University’s international research impact and reputation.
WORKSHOP SESSIONS:
- “Responsible Conduct of Research at RMIT” (Room 105) One of the hallmarks of a healthy and strong research culture is an awareness of and adherence to principles of research integrity. Conducting research responsibly ensures that research is of high quality, is trustworthy, and is conducted with respect for humans, animals, and the environment. This interactive session will explore how RMIT responds to the growing public, government, and funding body expectations around research integrity. A series of real life mini-cases will be used to stimulate discussion of good practice and what can be learned from situations where things have gone wrong.
- “Introduction to new EU funding opportunities” (Room 109) Speaker: Bruno Woeran
